There are many reasons why Denver Screen Print & Embroidery (aka Colorado Screen Print & Embroidery) is recognized as the Premier Apparel Decorator in the Rocky Mountain Region. As a family owned and operated company, we distinguish ourselves not only with the high quality of our printing, but with the service(s) we provide.

Since 1983 our mission remains the same: We produce great branded apparel at a fair and competitive price.

We will deliver every job on time, looking exactly what our clients anticipated. We will always treat every customer and project that comes through our door as if it is our #1 priority, because it is. Each employee is carefully vetted and trained to professionally find out and meet the needs and concerns of every client. The mission of each person on the DSPE team is to take a personal responsibility for everything our company produces and sells.

It all boils down to one reason why we are at the top of the Rocky Mountain Apparel Decorators: We earned it and continue to strive to be better every day.

History of Quality

We started printing T-shirts in 1983, mainly focused on our licensing products from the British Broadcasting Company’s television program, “DOCTOR WHO”.

Our first shop was located in a garage in Old Cherry Creek North, but soon moved to downtown Denver at 1942 Market Street. Although the area was then called “NoDo” (the area was nearly vacant and mostly inhabited by people experiencing homeless of the city), it later became the infamous area called LoDo. We expanded our clientele to the rapid growing nightclub and restaurants of Denver.

We moved out of our Market Street factory and bought our first building near the Highlands.

We began experimenting with environmentally responsible products: water-based inks and organic cotton shirts made in the USA. We would eventually buy organic cotton grown in Texas and begin manufacturing our own line of organic cotton shirts.

Although it took us an entire year to teach ourselves about water-base ink printing we persevered to become one of the leading printers in the country with that medium. This pioneer move became a giant step to the top of the Rocky Mountains.

In 2001 we sold our factory building and bought another one on 33rd and Mariposa in what now has become known as LoHi.

In less than 20 years we became the premier apparel decorator in the Rocky Mountain Region. Our industry began coming to us with new and cutting edge products to experiment with. Our clientele grew and is still growing. We have never rested on our laurels and seek to be a better company ever day. Why Work With Us


We were a “green” company long before “green” became the buzz-word for being environmentally responsible. In 1997 we started experimenting with water based inks. It took us one year to produce the high quality print we were looking for. Perseverance paid off. We created a unique type of print not yet available and we created a clean, non-toxic work environment for our employees.


Denver Screen Print & Embroidery started our printing and apparel decorating adventure in 1983, although did not go by that name; we were the Doctor Who Fan Club of America. We were licensed by the British Broadcasting Company for the United States to design and produce all merchandise relating to the BBC television series, “Doctor Who”. We held that license for over a decade.


The quality of a product is either excellent, good, average or poor; it’s that simple. In our business we do not use “poor” quality products because, in the end they just cost too much. We love it when a client only want an excellent product and is willing to pay for it because the end result usually will meet, or even exceed expectations.


There’s not enough room in this website to explain how we feel about customer service. It is so important in any company and there are so many ways to define what great customer service is. To Denver Screen Print & Embroidery it’s a complete culture and along with our standards for quality, it’s the most important attribute we possess. It’s like our reputation, it means everything.

Apparel Decorating Process; what do you need to do and what should you expect:
What makes custom apparel decorating so difficult is every job is different from every other job. Each project has its own set of idiosyncrasies. Even a (seemingly) simple job is complicated because of its unique qualities, defining the very meaning of “custom”. Here’s the “simple version” of how we go about it:

Your project starts with an idea. Let us help you with the process. We are happy to help you every step of the way. It’s what we do. It’s who we are.


Send your

Send your art work to us. (please see art work requirements). Let us know what you have in mind for your project and we will confirm the art work is useable for reproduction, or consult you as to how we can make it usable artwork.


a Garment

What garment and fabric colors will look fantastic for your idea? Let us know what you have in mind and we will guide you through our catalog(s) and help you choose the right garment(s) for you. We’ll then send you mock ups (three mock ups per client, art charges apply after 3 mock-ups).


Pick Shirt

What sizes would you like?  Who is your demographic and how would they like their shirts to fit them? Remember, it’s our goal to make the shirt we’re printing for you your favorite shirt, the one you always pull out to wear! Forget washing your car with it! Our minimum shirt order is 24 of the same design, although if our schedule permits, we’ll print less than minimums, although extra charges may apply.



With your mock up and sizes we will send you an Order Confirmation for your approval. This Confirmation is a Work Order for our production team. It will have all the information regarding your entire project. We will wait for your approval to this Confirmation before moving forward in production.



If you are in the Denver Metro Area we invite you to come see your first strike-off. This way you can approve exact placement and ink colors and see first hand how the process works. We schedule press checks at 9am, 10am or 11am.  If you are not able to come into our shop we can send you a photo, or use your mock for approval.



Your shirts are ready to wear and are hot off the press. They’re packed by size, dozen, and color. Water based inks should be be washed once before that print is super soft. Our turn-around time is about two weeks, and then you’ll have your new favorite shirt!

Disclaimers & Return Policy:

Any items/jobs produced by DSPE must be picked up within 7 days of completion, unless your project has been shipped out to you. Any defective items must be returned within 14 days of completed order. If there is a return within the 14 days of completion, we will issue a credit only: no refunds are allowed. Credits will be issued only if DSPE is at fault with your project.

For contract items provided by you:

DSPE is not responsible for any damages or misprints to items not purchased through our company. By agreeing to the Confirmation, you are hereby bound by this disclaimer and hold DSPE harmless for any damages to any of the products you’ve provided us to decorate.
